Joelle joined the Enrollment Management team in May 2017 and currently serves as Senior Manager of Enrollment Management Communications. In this role, she manages and develops marketing communications strategy for the department, encompassing all communication supporting student recruitment, retention, enrollment goals, orientation, commencement and career and professional development. She leads all communication efforts, including content development, digital outreach and engagement.
Prior to coming to LMU, Joelle earned a M.A. in journalism from New York University and has spent the majority of her career in communication strategy and community outreach supporting the federal government and nonprofit organizations. Most recently, she led content development efforts as primary writer and editor for the Real Warriors Campaign, a Department of Defense multimedia outreach campaign. She lived in Washington, D.C. for 3.5 years, where she first served as a public affairs specialist in the Community and Public Outreach office of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs. Joelle went on to serve as a consultant for the Department of Defense, developing and implementing communication strategies for various clients, such as the U.S. Navy and Air Force Medical Service. Her experience has included internal and external communication, community relations and partnership development and event management, as well as the creation and facilitation of social media trainings to educate clients how to best utilize digital communications.
Joelle is a proud alumni of LMU (class of 2008), where she earned a B.A. in English and double minors in American history and political science. She enjoys being active and volunteering in her community and is also a registered yoga instructor and freelance writer in her spare time. She writes regularly for various websites and news outlets, including the Huff Post.
