Jennifer Silverman
Jennifer Rivera Silverman, Ph.D., comes to LMU from the University of La Verne, where she was interim associate registrar since 2014. Dr. Silverman brings to this pivotal position broad experience in enrollment management. At ULV, she oversaw the day-to-day supervision, training and evaluation of the academic records analysts, articulation assistant, degree completion coordinator, ultimately being responsible for the academic records of 8,700 undergraduate students.
She also served as consultant for academic senate subcommittees and provided faculty with context, structure, and information related to institutional policies and best practices that impact advising, general education, transfer, articulation and degree completion. Before her appointment as interim associate registrar, she was an assistant registrar at ULV, evaluating foreign and transfer transcripts and records. Prior to her time at ULV, she worked for seven years at UC Irvine in increasingly responsible capacities in Admission and Relations with Schools.
As the LMU Registrar, Dr. Silverman leads the management of all academic records and policies, developing and managing academic policies and ensuring that academic records are administered in a secure and accessible manner. She formulates, reviews, publishes, and interprets the academic policies of the university in collaboration with the provost, the vice provost for enrollment management, and the deans. Dr. Silverman ensures a high quality of service provided to students, faculty, staff, and administration. In collaboration with partners across the university, she also leads the planning and execution of academic ceremonies, including the university’s Commencement Exercises. Dr. Silverman earned her Ph.D. in education from UC Riverside, and her M.A. and B.A. in English literature from UC Irvine.
