Lindsay Crowell McCarthy

Lindsay McCarthy joins LMU from UC Irvine, where she served as Senior Associate Director of Financial Aid for the past five years. In this role, she was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the financial aid office, including management and supervision of a large professional and student worker staff as well as the administration of and compliance with the laws, regulations, and policies governing student financial aid at the federal, state, NCAA and university levels. Before joining UC Irvine, she was Associate Director of Financial Assistance at Pepperdine University’s Frank R. Seaver College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences; she has also worked at UCLA as a financial aid supervisor; and held financial aid positions at American Film Institute Conservatory, American InterContinental University, and Santa Barbara City College.

She is a respected leader in the financial aid community. Lindsay currently serves as the 2019 membership services chair for the California Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and faculty for the Western Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators Jerry R. Sims Management Leadership Institute. Our search committee, and all with whom Lindsay met, were impressed with her energy, experience, appreciation for private, mission-centered universities, knowledge of all aspects of financial aid, her friendly and engaging personality, and leadership style.

As Assistant Vice Provost for Financial Aid, she will oversee the administration of financial aid from all sources to all LMU populations, including undergraduate, graduate, and LMU Loyola Law School students. Lindsay will serve as the university’s foremost expert on financial aid policy and advise Enrollment Management and university leadership on best practices. She will also oversee functions related to financial management, counseling and outreach, compliance, and data systems and reporting.

Lindsay earned her MBA, with a management emphasis, from American InterContinental University, and her B.A. in sociology from UC Santa Barbara.
