Mike joined Enrollment Management in April 2011 and holds the position of Assistant Vice Provost for Financial Aid.
He graduated from LMU in 2004 with a B.A. in History and Latin, and earned his Doctorate in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame in May 2010. Mike’s academic research focused on political behavior – specifically, the role of race, ethnicity, life satisfaction, and small-group composition in the development of political attitudes. Four of his co-authored articles have been published in peer-reviewed journals, including The American Journal of Political Science.
As the Assistant Vice Provost for Financial Aid, Mike leads the Financial Aid Office’s administration of more than $200 million in student financial aid from federal, state, institutional, and private sources. The Financial Aid Office ensures that students maximize the resources available to them to finance their education and seeks to administer all aid programs in a timely and equitable manner.
Prior to taking the Assistant Vice Provost role, Mike was the Director of Enrollment Research and Special Projects, and managed data collection, analysis, and reporting on a wide variety of topics across undergraduate admission, financial aid, student registration, and career & professional development.
In his spare time, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife, Lauren, and 5-year-old twins, Molly and Eddie, LMU Class of 2033.
